Score
Ever notice the ink cracking right where we fold a brochure or booklet? It doesn't look good. In fact, it looks bad.
Can you avoid ink cracking along a fold? Or is it just something you have to 'live with'?
You can minimize cracking, but here's the key: if you're printing on Cover stock have your piece 'Scored'. If we forget to mention it when you're placing your order, be sure to request that we 'Score' your piece.
What's a 'Score'? It's a crease we place in your stock, particularly Cover stock, that helps the stock fold, and the ink or toner bend. As part of the set-up for your job, our bindery technicians actually test the 'Score' to ensure it's not so deep that it leaves your piece shredded; or too shallow to make a difference.
